LITCHFIELD, Conn. - Hartok -- "Everyone is an immigrant" is what fine art photographer Jill Enfield believes and so fascinatingly displays in her highly distinctive "Glasshouse of New Americans" exhibit. Her stunning art piece has been displayed nationwide, including Ellis Island, since 2017. It will be displayed at the Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center at 229 East Litchfield Road in Litchfield beginning Sunday, October 2, 2022, through the end of November 2022. A free Artist Talk and Reception will held from 3:30 to 5:30 PM on Sunday, October 2 and open to the public.

Enfield uniquely utilizes the Alternative Photo Process of using wet plate collodion the same process used when newcomers arrived in the U.S. in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Her exhibit features 30 portraits of individuals who arrived in the U.S. during the 1960s and after.

"These photos were created as a tribute to immigrants, not only for their extraordinary bravery and strength, but also for the significant contributions they have made to the American Culture in areas of cuisine, fashion, art, literature, and much more," stated Enfield.
