LITCHFIELD, Conn. - Hartok -- June 1st is the deadline for walkers to register for a "Mental Health Matters: 5K For 5K Walk" fundraiser to benefit the non-profit Greenwoods Counseling Services in Litchfield. Organized by Challenging Minds LLC of Torrington and Bantam, the 5K Walk will take place on Sunday, June 23 at White Memorial Conservation Center at 80 Whitehall Road in Litchfield between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Donation entry fees to register for the "Mental Health Matters: 5K For 5K Walk" are $10 per person and $20 per family/group.
"All monies raised during this 5K Walk will be matched by Challenging Minds LLC up to $2,500 with a total goal of $5,000", stated Challenging Minds LLC Owner and CEO Andrew Matusiak, LCSW. "All proceeds will be donated directly to Greenwoods Counseling Services in Litchfield."
Celebrating five years in business, Challenging Minds LLC offers a holistic approach to both mental health and personal development. They offer a wide variety of clinical and wellness services for individuals, families, and groups while striving to provide new perspectives on the challenges of life and how to overcome barriers. Clinical services offered range from Individual and Group Therapy to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy. Wellness services range from SunLighten Sauna Therapy to Mindfulness Meditation, Reiki, Reflexology, and Massage Therapy.

Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals is a nonprofit organization at 25 South Street in Litchfield that uniquely helps individuals and families living and working in Litchfield County to find quality, accessible, and affordable mental health care. Executive director John Simoncelli, LCSW, LADC, MPA, stated, "Greenwoods is the only mental health referral service in Connecticut that provides personalized referrals by matching each person with counselors, therapists, or other professionals with the expertise to help, and at reduced rates."
