DARIEN, Conn. - Hartok -- This June, the Geary Gallery of Darien is proud to present the watercolor and oil paintings of world-renowned painter, William Ternes (1933-2014). His vivid landscapes and florals will be on display June 1-29 at the Geary Gallery, located at 576 Boston Post Road in Darien. All are welcome and admission is free.
About William Ternes
William Ternes (1933-2014) was a watercolor and oil painter known for his vibrant use of color in the natural world where he painted plein air for most of his life.
Ternes was a master member of the Copley Society of Boston, a member of the Guild of Boston Artists, and a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society and the American Watercolor Society.
Additionally, his work has been included in various exhibitions including the Allied Artists, Audubon Artists, National Arts Club and the Salmagundi Club of NYC. His work can be found in many corporate and private collections.

In addition to painting, Ternes enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his many dedicated students. He taught many workshops around the world. For over thirty years he led a workshop on Martha's Vineyard every June and September. A favorite winter destination was Harbour Island in the Bahamas, where every January he would lead a workshop. He did this for over twenty years. His many devoted students followed him to other international destinations including Lyford Cay, Spain, France and Ireland.
